THE MODEL:
The Excalibur was designed on paper in a rough draft first. I added details to the drawing as I went along. The ship is designed as if it were an exploration vehicle. It has limited armament, and fast speed.

SCALE:
The model was built to a scale of 1"=50'.
The model is approximately 18" long.

CONSTRUCTION:
The hull of the model was constructed from sheet styrene of various thicknesses, as were the rear and forward sections. I added details from a variety of sources, including electronics parts, other kit parts, Model RR parts, wire, plastic Easter eggs, and brass tubing. I modified all of the kit parts to change the look of them. The model was painted with Poly S paints. I weathered it with Poly S paints and Pastels. The logo on the side was hand painted.
