THE MODEL:
I got the idea for the Speeder Bike when a local hobby shop
was sellling some of there Star Wars kits at a cheap price. I designed the
Speeder Bike as if it would be ridden by 2 riders, one facing front, and the
other facing rearward. The Bike has a large Laser Cannon with a targeting screen
facing the rear, as well as a small laser rifle under the front end.SCALE:
The model is built to a scale
of approximately 1in.=1ft Scale.
CONSTRUCTION:
The model was made by combining 2
Speeder Bike kits by AMT/Ertl. I made the details from a variety of things
including styrene, parts from other kits, wire, brass tubing, and other items
from my parts box. Theatrical Gels (the type used on lights) was used to make
the targeting screen. I used a variety of paints including Testors, Floquil Poly
S, and others to paint the model. Pastel Chalks were used to weather the model. |
